Day 1 & 2

15th - 16th July

The lessons here are very interesting. We learn a lot with a demanding teacher.

We are also very happy with our accommodation. The view from our window is amazing. We can see the Mediterranean Sea. We do our homework on the beach.

Tomorrow we have the first trip to Golden Gay. This is one of the most popular and the second-largest beach in Malta. It's situated on the edge of the untouched countryside and surrounded by the waters of the Mediterranean.

Day 3 & 4

17th - 18th July

After working hard during our English classes, we set out on a trip to Mdina.

Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, located on a large hill in the centre of Malta. It was the old capital of Malta. With its narrow streets, few inhabitants and beautiful views of the Island it is a truly magical town. Mdina is referred to as the "Silent City" by the Maltese and visitors alike - no cars have permission to enter Mdina so the town provides a relaxing atmosphere for the visitors walking its narrow streets and alleyways.
We had lots of fun together and we know more about the history of Malta now. We recommend this trip to everyone.

Day 5

19th July

Of course, we started the day with lessons, and next, we went sightseeing.

Blue Grotto and Marsaxlokk were our destinations for the day.

The location of Blue Grotto combines with sunlight and the surrounding chain of caves to reflect the phosphorescent colours of the submerged flora and the deep dark blue shade of the sea - it was awesome ..
In the fish village of Marsaxlokk we could see old colourful boats and a nice fish market. You can taste delicious fresh fish there and enjoy the fantastic sea scenery.

Day 6&7

20th - 21st July

The weekend has started- 2 days off school and homework, but we are still learning English :)

We went to Gozo - a beautiful island. It is part of Malta. We went there by ferry. You can visit many churches and exciting citadel on the island. We enjoyed fantastic grottos there and swam in the warm, fascinating Mediterranean sea. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the Azure Window. This limestone feature was one of the island's major tourist attractions until it collapsed in stormy weather in 2017. Gozo is known for its scenic hills, which are featured on its coat of arms.

Day 8

22nd July

Monday - we are back at school studying :)

Every day we have 6 lessons and in the afternoon we do a lot of homework - sometimes on the terrace in front of our school :) We do lots of exercises and speak English with our new friends from other countries.

We didn't have lessons at the weekend but we didn't stop learning English. The school offers many trips for the students. Last Sunday we could use English during a trip to Sicily - our guide spoke a lot in English about the island and he was speaking really fast... The history and the geology of Sicily are rich and fascinating. We enjoyed the biggest volcano in Europe and visited a beautiful Italian city - Taormina.

A boat trip to Sicily

Day 9

23rd July

We are learning English every time and everywhere. On Tuesday we had the last school trip to Valletta. This is Malta's capital city. We visited the History Museum where we saw "Experience Audio Visual Show". It was gorgeous! Now we know that the Polish soldiers fought in Malta during
the Second World War.

Day 10&11

24th - 25th July

There are many places to study at our school. We can hear a lot of foreign languages here, but English is the most popular.

We are staying in St. Julian's. There are a lot of beaches and a great jogging path along the shore. Every morning and evening you can meet hundreds of runners here - from Poland, too:)

We can practise several sport disciplines before or after the lessons: swimming, sailing, diving, climbing, cycling.

One of our teachers has a birthday today. We made a surprise for her. We bought a layer cake, wrote some nice words on a birthday card and sang "Happy birthday" song for her. She was happy and moved.

Day 12

26th July

We have finished our course today. Our teachers gave us the certificates and wished us success in learning English. Now we have a lot of interesting experiences and mail addresses of our new friends from various countries. And we are highly motivated to learn English even more so :)

We have visited the most beautiful places in Malta - tomorrow we are going to sightsee the city of St. Julian's. We have bought some souvenirs for our families and we can go back to Poland.

It was not only hard work (6 hours a day), but a very exciting adventure.

Agata and Ewa in Malta

Day 1                                   28.07.2019

We arrived in Malta at midnight but we had to wait at the airport for an hour to pick up some other students and take them to the hotel. When we finally got to our destination, it was about 2 a.m. and we went straight         to bed. We had a very exciting day ahead...

Day 2                                  29.07.2019

After checking in at school each of us went to our classrooms with our new teachers and classmates. Our groups consist of students from variuos countries e.g. Hungary, Russia, Italy, Germany, Finland and Japan. After classes we had lunch in our school cafeteria and decided to do some sightseeing around St. Julian's.

Day 3           30.07.2019

As our classes are extremely intensive and demand constant concentration, we have to find some time to relax. So, in the afternoons we get acquainted with Malta and its sights. We had a chance to visit Valetta -  the capital city of Malta

Day 4                                 31.07.2019

On  Wednesday we spent our free afternoon on the beach near Sliema. Sliema is a seaside tourist resort famous for its promenade, shopping opportunities and numerous bars and restaurants.

Day 5                                1.08.2019

Today we decided to return to Valetta just          to enjoy its charm and great atmosphere.             We tasted typical Maltese dishes called torta tal lampuki. This is basically a pie filled with a local fish called lampuka, which has been cut up and fried, then mixed with onions, olives, tomatoes and other vegetables.

Day 6                                2.08.2019

Today was another ordinary day, we did some learning, sightseeing and relaxing. Tomorrow we are going on a trip to Gozo island.

Day 7                                   3.08.2019

We set off to Gozo island early in the morning and spent a nice day there with our friends from various countries. Gozo is a lesser-known destination in Malta and is the second largest island in the archipelago with a population of just 37,000  people, yet covering an area of 67 km2.  All roads in Gozo lead to the Citadel in Rabat (also known as Victoria) – a beautiful fortified city that has witnessed many historic moments and stood the test of time in the most handsome way.

In the afternoon we soaked up the sun and spent some time swimming in the sea.

Day 8                                                                                                   4.08.2019

We decided to spend our second day of the weekend in Valletta  - the capital city of Malta. In the late afternoon we took part in a mass in St. John's Co-Cathedral where we can find the most famous work of Caravaggio - The Beheading of Saint John (1608). We could also participate in a local feat of St. Dominic. For Maltese people a feast is not just a religious celebration, but a cultural event too. The festa season in Malta is made up of a long series of extended weekends, starting from the end of May right through the entire summer and well into September. During this period, there is hardly any weekend when  a town or    a village is not celebrating the feast of its patron saint or other saints revered in different churches.

Day 9                             5.08.2019

On this day we went to the Blue Lagoon which  is a part of the Maltese islands - most often photographed because it just looks like a little slice of paradise. So, admire the amazing views just as we did.

Day 10                         6.08.2019

After classes we continued to explore          St. Julian's with our friends and spent our leisure time on the beach.

 Day 11                                                            7.08.2019

On Wednesday we went on a  two-harbour cruise. The two harbour cruise taking in seven creeks is an excellent way to see the three cities, many historical features, some of Valletta's infrastructure and the maritime business which makes Malta the wonderful place it is. The 90 minute tour was comfortable and the captain was highly professional.

Day 12              8.08.2019

Mdina was another tour in which we participated. The journey to Mdina took us about an hour and it was a good occasion to integrate with other teachers from our school. We could share our knowledge connected with teaching, describe the differences and similarities between our countries and spent a nice evening in a good company.

Day 12               9.08.2019

Finally, we finished our courses and got our certificates. Although we were happy to go home it was also sad that we had to leave our new friends.

Day 13                                                                                            10.08.2019

This is our good-bye walk around St. Julian's
